#1. Workshops for nursery and elementary classes

  • Large unpacking (Observation, handling of objects)
Discover the backstage of an exhibition by putting on the costume of the stage managers or curators to take the works out of their storerooms, observe them with a magnifying glass, prepare them for the exhibition (dust them off, wrap them up) with the appropriate tools...
  • Art materials (drawing, painting, modelling)
Discover the materials used by Giacometti and follow his creative process in clay, plaster, bronze, oil painting... Create samples of each technique and test the effects of the material, Giacometti's chromatic range.
  • Sculpting a figure in the manner of Alberto (modelling in clay on a wire frame).
Explore the technique of clay modelling by creating a moving figure. The first step will be to observe and sketch Giacometti's sculptures, then form a figure out of wire on which the clay will be modelled.

#2. Workshops for middle and high school classes

  • Talkative works (Written expression, directing, photography...)
Writing a dialogue between two works or between the work and the artist, and transposing it into short videos or photo-montages ("stories" on Instagram, TikTok...) or sound creations.
  • Mental Landscape (Drawing, photo collage, writing...)
Discover life in Giacometti's studio. Create your own ideal workshop, with its sources of inspiration, its achievements, work tools, elements of comfort... or discomfort.

#3. Workshops for art school preparatory classes

  • Near and distant influences (drawing, modelling)
Choose a source of influence (avant-gardes, extra-western arts...) in Giacometti's studio or in the exhibition. Draw or model a human figure or an object under this influence (Cycladic figurines, African totems, Egyptian or Etruscan statuary...).
  • Drawing in space
Drawing the works exhibited in the Giacometti Institute, working on the effects of perspective, scenography and the architecture and decor of the Hotel Follot.
