Fondation Giacometti - Loan of a work from the Fondation Giacometti to La Piscine - Musée d'art et d'industrie André-Diligent

The Giacometti Foundation of Paris is pleased to participate to the reopening of La Piscine - Musée d'art et d'industrie André-Diligent after the extension work of the museum and the addition of a new wing mostly dedicated to the twentieth century sculpture.

Around the workshop of the sculptor Henri Bouchard restored in its light and its volumes of origin, this space will be organized in three sequences.

The first will evoke the different stylistic responses on enlightening themes or principles (portraits, public commissions, nudes, sacred art, work, etc.) that coexist in sculpture in the 19th and 20th centuries.
The second will present, including the reconstituted workshop of Henri Bouchard, the craft and techniques of sculpture.
The third will show how, in the modern period, public monument sculpture is the artistic expression most related to public order and political power.
