Description

Alberto Giacometti settled in Paris in 1922, but throughout his life he regularly came back to Stampa, to the family home, where he worked in his father’s studio, and where he also drew portraits of his mother Annetta, his wife Annette, and views of the interior. On this front-back drawing, he has depicted the dresser that was in the living room of the chalet in Stampa. The space is constructed by several lines that meet, horizontally and vertically, drawing the lathes of wood on the walls, the edges of a shelf.
