Exhibition Tour

The exhibition Surrealist Giacometti: Objects like Sculptures, on view this summer at the Institut Giacometti, offers a unique perspective on Giacometti’s Surrealist period, from 1929 to 1935. While the artist’s Surrealist works are now well known, less is known about his parallel engagement with decorative arts, creating lighting fixtures, andirons and vases for Jean-Michel Frank, a leading Parisian interior designer. Long considered separate practices, the two are brought together in this exhibition. It reveals the extent to which they intersect and enrich one another, in their forms, themes and even in the very principles underlying their conception.

Saturday, September 19, 2026, 2:00 p.m., 4:00 p.m. & Sunday, September 20, 2026, 10:00 a.m., 2:00 p.m., 4:00 p.m.
