Fondation Giacometti

The Fondation Giacometti is launching a new collection of books on the unpublished correspondence of Alberto Giacometti (1901-1966). The first three volumes, "Lettres d’Alberto Giacometti a sa famille" (Letters from Alberto Giacometti to his family), are devoted to the abundant correspondence that Alberto Giacometti maintained with his parents. This selection of letters allows us to enter into the artist's private life and to follow his artistic career, from his beginnings to his consecration.

Edited by Serena Bucalo-Mussely, curator of the Giacometti Foundation, these three illustrated books, each 88 pages long, present a selection of the letters that Alberto Giacometti regularly exchanged with his family throughout his life and career. Translated from Italian into French, this correspondence provides access to the artist's intimate world, revealing remarkable and original details about his creative work and environment. Each volume is illustrated with family photographs and works by the artist.
