During lockdown, the Fondation Giacometti research team proposes a series of live conferences.

Amongst Giacometti's literary friendships, the one with Samuel Beckett isn't the most obvious one, but is definitely one of the most longlasting. It is traced back to 1937 and further unravelled after the war. The two artists liked to meet up at the endless gatherings of the cafés of Montparnasse, and strolled through the Paris streets at night. Profound commonalities tie their plastic and theatrical work together, at the crossroads of Existentialism, and which culminates in 1961 : Giacometti's interpretation of the set for Beckett's "En attendant Godot".

Hugo Daniel, head of the École des modernités programme and curator and future exhibition for the Institut Giacometti, wil recount this singular friendship.
